Key functions:

o Follow testing procedures outlined in the testing documents and record results following the workplans of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System as well as any specific customer-related production requests.

o Layout of electrical and mechanical components for installation.

o Pre-assemble components when needed.

o Use various power and hand tools in a safe manner.

o Move material and items around with pallet jacks and forklifts if certified.

Transformer Quality Control Specialist

Boundary Electric is looking for a Transformer Quality Control Specialist to join our team!

The Quality Control Specialist reporting to the Technical Director will focus on the quality control of transformer manufacturing, specifically winding processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, extensive knowledge of transformer winding techniques, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards. Experience with high voltage equipment and an A class FSR (Field Safety Representative) certification are considered assets. The ability to travel is required and proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable.

Key functions:
Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality control processes for transformer winding manufacturing, ensuring all products meet the company’s stringent quality standards.
Inspection & Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and tests on transformer windings to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement quality control procedures and best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality reports. Prepare detailed reports for management review.
Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required to various manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers to ensure quality standards are met.
Communication: Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Safety: Adheres to the BEL Health & Safety Program.

Special Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control within the transformer manufacturing industry, with specific expertise in winding processes.
Technical Skills: Proficient in quality control methodologies, inspection techniques, and testing equipment related to transformer winding.
High Voltage Equipment: Experience with high voltage equipment is an asset.
FSR Certification: A class FSR (Field Safety Representative) certification is considered an asset.
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently as needed.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Mandarin is a major plus but not a requirement.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.

Hours and Location: On-site or Remote. Relocation pay available for the right candidate. Hours will vary depending on location & travel.

Pay: $100,000 – $120,000 per year depending on experience.
