Boundary Electric is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our team!!

The Industrial Electrician will work closely with the Transformer & Motor Technician Apprentice to ensure all transformer repairs, testing, and documentation is completed efficiently and maintained to the ISO 9001 standard.

Key functions:

· Transformer Evaluation, Repair & Refurbishment:

o Follow testing procedures outlined in the testing documents and record results following the workplans of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System as well as any specific customer-related production requests.

o Ensure that all information is accurate and complete on all Work Orders and Project related documents.

o Testing as per Boundary Electric Ltd.’s (BEL) ISO 9001 standards.

o Support the Sales Department and other departments by lending technical advice and expertise when needed.

o Ensure transformers are complete and ready to ship.

o Quality installation of electrical components in accordance with regulations, specification, design, and Boundary Electric standards.

o Cut, Splice, and terminate conductors.

o Install, cut, and bend conduit as needed.

o Install network cabling as per design.

o Test and troubleshoot as required.

o Perform Quality Control checklists as required by management.

o Measure, cut, drill, and install mechanical components.

o Layout of electrical and mechanical components for installation.

o Pre-assemble components when needed.

o Use various power and hand tools in a safe manner.

o Move material and items around with pallet jacks and forklifts if certified.

Special Requirements:

· Electrical background.

· Mathematically inclined.

· Strong safety mindset.

· Good physical condition.

· Be self-motivated and possess personal accountability.

Education, Skills, and Attributes:

· Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.

· Mechanically inclined.

· Comfortable in a production environment.

· Strong computer skills.

· Experience working with hand tools and technical testing equipment.

· Experience driving a forklift is an asset.

As a Jr. Designer/Drafter, you will play a crucial role in transforming initial rough product design using CAD into working documents. The Junior Designer/Drafter will review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Key functions:

· Core Duties

o Design and prepare detailed electronic working plans, scale drawings for complex projects from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications using CAD software.

o Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements.

o Collaborate with senior designers to refine designs.

o Provide technical guidance and direction in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of CAD.

The Transformer Technician Helper will provide support to the Transformer Technician by assisting with mechanical assembly and documentation, evaluation, testing, and reconditioning of transformers.

*No experience? No problem! Comprehensive training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

Transformer Evaluation, Repair, & Refurbishment

• Perform mechanical assembly tasks as part of transformer maintenance and repair.
• Assist with the documentation of transformer repairs and maintenance procedures.
• Assist with the evaluation and testing of transformers.
• Support the reconditioning of transformers, including cleaning, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
• Assist the Transformer department in meeting production goals.
• Learn and apply safety protocols and quality standards during all assembly and repair activities.
• Help with the preparation and shipping of transformers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate efficient operations.
• Collaborate with the technical team to improve maintenance processes and documentation accuracy.
• Learn to work alongside an experienced Transformer Technician.

Responsibilities:

General Labour

• Perform general labour duties in various manufacturing areas.
• Assist with yard maintenance and outdoor labour as needed.

As the Engineering & Innovation Coordinator you will support the preliminary process prior to project release to the production department. The Engineering & Innovation Coordinator role will work closely with the estimating, operations, and design departments to ensure that all technical projects are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Key functions:

· Technical Project Planning and Coordinating

o Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project requirements.

o Ensure that all information is complete and accurate on all work orders, check sheets, bill of materials, and other project-related documents.

o Testing as per Boundary Electric (1985) LTD’s ISO 9001 standards.

o Communicate with the E&I department on a daily basis.

o Communicate via the Monday App to update all necessary BEL employees.

o Ensure the availability of necessary technical tools and equipment.

o Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities.

o Assist in developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

o Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, design documents, and user manuals.

o Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information for project purposes.

o Support the E&I department and other team members throughout the assigned project.

o Assist in ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards.

o Coordinate the Q&A team to ensure the quality of deliverables.
